Bristol Lettering actually began in 1938 as Bristol Felt in a tiny garage in Bristol’s industrial district. Despite its small size, our little shop was a big hit locally, producing custom work uniforms and printed awnings for Bristol’s growing commercial population. We finally moved into a real storefront on Park Street in Hartford in 1965 and changed our name to Bristol Lettering. While the past 70 years have brought Bristol Lettering new printing technology and an even larger storefront, we’ve made certain to hold onto that "little garage" mentality that made our grandparents’ shop one of a kind from the start.

Today, each piece we screen print or embroider gets the same handcrafted love and care that we established in 1938. And today, our selection of quality pieces go far beyond standard t-shirts and sportswear to include storefront banners, custom flags, stylish messenger bags, totes, and much, much more.
